City schools hold swachhta rally

LUDHIANA: The health branch of the Municipal Corporation organised an awareness rally as a part of the Swachh Bharat Mission on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti to educate people about the importance of cleanliness, segregation of waste and havoc that plastic created on environment.

The health branch of the Municipal Corporation organised an awareness rally as a part of the Swachh Bharat Mission on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti to educate people about the importance of cleanliness, segregation of waste and havoc that plastic created on environment.

Former minister and Congress legislator from Ludhiana North Rakesh Pandey, accompanied by DCC president Ashwani Sharma, councillors and representatives of city-based NGOs, flagged off the rally comprising students from various schools of the city.

The students marched from Zone A office of the MC towards Mata Rani Chowk, Clock Tower Chowk, Chaura Bazar, Girja Ghar Chowk, Town Hall Road and MC office where the rally concluded. — OC
