City girls set up title clash with SAI

CHANDIGARH:Hockey Chandigarh registered a 2-0 win over Steel Plant Sports Promotion Board (SPSPB) to set up the title clash with Sports Authority of India in the 9th Hockey India Senior Women National Hockey Championship 2019 (B Division) at Hisar on Saturday.

Chandigarh, February 9

Hockey Chandigarh registered a 2-0 win over Steel Plant Sports Promotion Board (SPSPB) to set up the title clash with Sports Authority of India in the 9th Hockey India Senior Women National Hockey Championship 2019 (B Division) at Hisar on Saturday.

Skipper Shweta put Chandigarh ahead in the fourth minute and Manju doubled their lead 30 minutes later. Chandigarh defense then guarded their fort well to seal the match 2-0.

Earlier, Sports Authority of India (SAI) drubbed UCO Bank Women’s Hockey Academy 4-1.

Subhasi Hemrom (3rd), Sonia (19th), Mudita (23rd) and Anima Tiru (37th) scored a goal each for SAI. Manisha Dhayal (45th) scored the consolation goal for UCO Bank Women’s Hockey Academy.
