City-based shuttlers to train in Indonesia

City-based badminton players Lakshay Sharma and Arnam Jain have been selected by the Badminton Association of India (BAI) for an advanced training stint in Indonesia.

Lakshay (13), studies at Sacred Heart Convent School, Sarabha Nagar, and Arnam Jain (15), at Sat Paul Mittal School, Dugri. The duo have found place in the list of eight players shortlisted from across the country for this training.

The players selected by the BAI would undergo a three-week long advanced training session at the world famous badminton academy PB Djrarum Badminton Club. The camp would be held between December 6 and 20. The entire cost on this overseas coaching would be borne by the BAI.

The duo were selected on the basis of their performance during the national sub-junior badminton coaching camp held at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy, Bengaluru, in July.

The duo have been getting coaching from the NIS qualified coach, Mangat Rai Sharma, and have already carved a niche for themselves.
