Play a proactive role and get in touch with major international companies, which will be holding ‘Business to Government (B2G)’ meetings with the state government during the Global Investors Meet in Dharamsala. This was stated by Chief Secretary Dr Shrikant Baldi here today.

Presiding over the review meeting of Global Investors Meet to be held on November 7 and 8, Baldi said a large number of foreign and Indian delegates were coming for the meet to sign MoUs and do business.

The departments concerned should get request for proposal (RFP) bidding done so as to finalise the MoUs and separate officials should be appointed for business-to-business meetings to facilitate investments in the private sector.

“The investors should be satisfied. They should get the best from us and vice versa,” he added.

Baldi also directed the departments to prepare brochures containing details of investable projects, availability of land (government as well as private), incentives and contact numbers of nodal officers so that the same could be given to the investors.

Chairman, ASSOCHAM, Europe, Dr Vikas Chaturvedi, who has been coordinating with foreign delegates to bring them to the meet, talked about potential MoUs to be signed during the meet.

He said that the key sectors in which the MoUs would be signed included agriculture, horticulture, food processing, infrastructure, education and tourism.

In the agriculture sector, potential MoUs would be signed on increasing the yield of crops, enhancing crop quality, protection of crop and skill development of farmers.

Emphasis on development of gram panchayats

The Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) aims at eco-development of gram panchayats by using all available resources. This was stated by Chief Secretary Dr Shrikant Baldi at a meeting of the People’s Plan Campaign for GPDP Sabki Yojana, Sabka Vikas here on Saturday. For the development of panchayats, it was important to have inter-departmental coordination as it would also help in coordination of funds, he added.  He directed the authorities to form a sub-divisional-level committee under the chairmanship of Sub-divisional Magistrate (SDM) for monitoring and executing development works in various panchayats. Baldi asked the Panchayati Raj Department to conduct two meetings at the SDM-level on a pilot basis and formulate guidelines regarding the same.
