Chief Minister woos investors at Hyderabad

A day after the “Roadshow-Business to Government” at Bengaluru, the government today organised a roadshow in Hyderabad in association with the Confederation of Indian Industries to attract entrepreneurs.

Addressing investors, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said the state had an investor-friendly industrial policy providing concessions and incentives to entrepreneurs. He assured the investors to provide land parcel with good connectivity and supporting infrastructure.

He said the government would reach out to investors and persuade them to invest. The law and order was excellent and the administration was responsible, making the state a favourite place for investment.

Thakur said the pollution-free environment made it a major centre for information technology and biotechnology firms. He said the pharma sector could be an ideal destination for drug firms. Moreover, being a major producer of fruits like apple, plums, apricots, kiwis, walnuts and pears, the state offered abundant opportunity for food processing and allied industries.

Apart from addressing representatives from over 150 companies, the Chief Minister also had meetings with CEOs and leaders of leading companies, including Apollo Hospitals, Dr Reddy’s Lab, Ramky Enviro Engineers, ITC, DP Chocolates, KSK Energy, Micromax, MNR Group, 2E Knowledge Ventures, Nepro Plus, Dodla Dairy and discussed plans, a release said.

Managing director, Nagarjuna Construction Company, NR Alluri, showed interest in projects related to resorts, hotels, roads, tunnels and bridges. CMD, Greenko Company, Anil Chalmashetty showed interest in setting up integrated renewable energy storage projects.

Joint managing director Ramky Enviro Engineers Masood Malik pitched to set up waste management and bio-medical waste management plants while director, Puzzolona Machinery Fabricators, Prakash Pai was inclined towards investing in food processing and real estate.

Managing director and co-chairman, Dr Reddy’s Lab, GV Prasad envisaged interest in expansion of their unit at Baddi. CEO 2E Knowledge Vebtures expressed willingness to invest in training centres for skill development.

Industry Minister Bikram Singh said the state had responsive and transparent administration which ensured hassle-free clearances to entrepreneurs. Additional Chief Secretary, Industries, Manoj Kumar said Himachal Pradesh had over 1,600 acres of land bank for industries. The state was coming up with industrial parks like bulk drug pharma park and biotechnology park in Solan, integrated industrial townships in Una and Kangra and textile park in Una.
