Chess tourney from today

LUDHIANA: The Ludhiana District Chess Association (LDCA) will be organising the Annual Ludhiana District Inter- School Chess Championship at BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, here on December 7 and 8.

The Ludhiana District Chess Association (LDCA) will be organising the Annual Ludhiana District Inter- School Chess Championship at BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, here on December 7 and 8.

Vikas Sharma, president of the LDCA, said around 200 players were expected to compete in this two-day championship.

Competition in five categories for boys and girls (U-7, 9, 11, 13 and 19 years) would be conducted as per Swiss League System and the latest FIDE (World Chess Federation) rules would be applicable, he said.
