Central Balmiki Sabha seeks Lok Sabha seats from Congress

PHAGWARA: The Central Balmiki Sabha India has urged the Congress high command to give due representation to the Balmiki community while allotting party tickets for the forthcoming Lok Sabha (LS) elections.

The Central Balmiki Sabha India has urged the Congress high command to give due representation to the Balmiki community while allotting party tickets for the forthcoming Lok Sabha (LS) elections.

In a state-level meeting held here on Thursday, a resolution was passed unanimously to demand Congress ticket for its national president Geja Ram from Fatehgarh parliamentary constituency and Joginder Singh Maan from Hoshiarpur constituency.

Satish Salhotra, national vice-president of the sabha presided over the meeting.

Members, who attended the meeting clarified that the Balmiki community had always supported the Congress and now it was the turn of the Congress to support Balmiki leaders.

District president of the sabha Kundan Lal, and Phagwara president Kishan Lal Ghai, were present. — OC
