Rajas Bhatt, a student of Army Public School here, has topped the state in Class XII by scoring 99 per cent marks in non-medical stream.

Son of homemaker Radha Bhatt and retired Army official Anil Bhatt, Rajas says he isn’t much of a bookworm, but he studied hard.

A beaming Rajas says, “Boards were not the real focus. I was preparing for JEE Mains. But I am happy with my result. Now I will work even harder to cracking JEE Advanced.” Rajas, who studies for six to eight hours a day, credits his mother for being his strong support system.

Talking to The Tribune, Rajas said, “My mother stood by me all along. Whenever I am in trouble, she always offers a perfect solution. I am also very thankful to my teachers, mainly Varun Gandhi who helped me clear my concepts in mathematics.”

An avid basketball fan, Rajas said he kept himself busy with the sport whenever studies proved too much.

Sharing his success mantra, he said, “Don’t study too much, but be disciplined and focused.”
