IIT Roorkee has jumped by 20 places in the global ranking to be placed at the 35th position, while being placed at number three in India in the 2019 Times Higher Education Emerging Economies University Rankings.
Since its establishment, the institute has played a vital role in providing technical manpower which enabled it to reach to 2nd position in generating industry income. Commenting on the top ranking for his institute Prof. Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi, Director, IIT Roorkee, said, “It is a matter of pride and happiness that our overall rank has improved globally as well as nationally. I am happy that Architecture and Planning and Management Studies departments have been ranked at the number one position”. — TNS
