Thieves decamped with jewellery and Rs 90,000 from the house of a lawyer of the Punjab and Haryana High Court in Sector 28 here.

In his complaint to the police, RS Yadav stated that he, along with his family, had gone to his native village Nurpur in Rewari district on May 31. He said they returned on the intervening night of June 3 and 4 and found the lock on the main gate broken and the house ransacked. On checking, he found gold ornaments of his wife and other family members and around Rs 90,000 missing. 

Yadav said when he enquired from a neighbour, he came to know that on June 1, five persons had come in a car around 10 pm. When he asked them whom they wanted to meet, occupants of the car left the place. Around 2.30 am, the complainant’s neighbour heard noise coming from his house. The lights were on at the house and a car was also parked outside, Yadav said.

The Chandimandir police have registered a case under Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC and started an investigation into it.
