The Congress today staged a walkout after its leaders were not allowed to speak during the cut motion on the Tourism Department in the Vidhan Sabha.
The Congress legislators got agitated as Vidhan Sabha Speaker Rajeev Bindal asked Sunder Thakur to wind up as 4 pm time had been fixed for the passing of the Budget proposals for 2019-20.
This perturbed the MLA and the Leader of the Opposition objected to the MLA not being given time.
“I have never seen such an irresponsible behaviour in my 22 years in this House. Each time, a reply is to be given, the Opposition decides to walk out without any rhyme or reason,” Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, who also holds the tourism portfolio said.
The moment he stood up to give the reply on tourism, Congress MLAs returned to the House and objected to the Chief Minister’s reply as the debate had not taken place. The Chief Minister said he would lay his reply on the table of the House.
