Kotkapura, February 13
The repair work of a leakage in underground water supply pipes carried out by the Water Supply and Sanitation Board in Kotkapura has left many localities inundated.
Lack of proper upkeep of water pipes by untrained persons has led to leakages in many big pipes, inundating many streets. Water has entered houses on Devi Wala Road in Kotkapura on Wednesday.
Residents rued that no action had been taken on their complaints by the Water Supply and Sanitation Board.
Ravi Goyal, executive engineer, Water Supply and Sanitation Board, said he was not aware of any leakage or breaking of water supply pipes.
He said, “I have no information about it. If we receive any complaint, we will address it on Thursday.”
Residents of Street No. 2 on Devi Wala Road said stagnant water on the streets has added to their woes. “The level of water has increased not just outside, but also inside houses. We have lost our belongings as well as our peace of mind as well,” said Gurdas Ram, a resident.
