Jalandhar: The anti-larva cell of the Health Department on Thursday detected 39 dengue larva cases in 11 places of the city during its drive to tackle vector-borne diseases under the mission ‘Tandarust Punjab’. The teams visited 564 houses, covered population of 2,236 and checked 243 desert coolers and 635 waste containers. TNS
One held with 15-gm heroin
Jalandhar: The police seized 15 gm of heroin and 14 intoxicating injections from a person on Wednesday night and arrested him. The suspect has been identified as Ishant Sharma, a resident of Moti Bazar locality. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered. OC
