Man booked for harassment

Bathinda: A man has been booked for allegedly sexually harassing a woman and behaving in an appropriate way with her in a bus. The complainant stated to the police that she boarded a bus from Meha Sarja village for Goniana. She said accused Parkash Singh, who was sitting next to her, behaved inappropriately on February 22. A case under Section 354-A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)  has been registered against the accused at the Nehiawala police station. TNS

Daily wager commits suicide

Malout: A daily wager in his mid 30s, allegedly committed suicide at Jhorar village here on Friday night. The deceased has been identified as DC Singh, a resident of Gidderbaha. He was found hanging by his co-workers in the morning. The Sadar Malout police have started proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC. His wife told mediapersons that he was in depression as he had taken some loan, but unable to repay it. TNS
