A case under Section 188, IPC, and Noise Pollution Act 2000 has been registered against the owner. Man arrested with illegal weapon

Ludhiana: The PAU police have nabbed a man with an illegal weapon. He has been identified as Baldev Singh of Rangar Nangla, Gurdaspur. The investigating officer, ASI Sukhdeep Singh, said during a routine checking near PAU Gate No. 3, the police stopped a pedestrian. His search yielded a .12-bore pistol and two cartridges. A case under Section 25-54-59 of the Arms Act has been registered. TNS

Drug peddler held with heroin 

Ludhiana: The Dugri police have nabbed a drug peddler with 5.5-gram heroin. He has been identified as Vishal Sharma of Patti, Tarn Taran district. The investigating officer, ASI Sunil Kumar, said the suspect was nabbed at a park in Dugri following a tip-off. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against him. TNS
