Anirban Lahiri rounded off the week with a 4-under 66 that included six birdies and a double bogey to finish tied-43rd in the Sony Open in Hawaii. Lahiri totalled a 7-under 273 with rounds of 68, 68, 73 and 66. Matt Kuchar turned in an amazing display of front-running to win the title with a final card of a 22-under 258 and win his second title in three starts. He beat his playing partner Andrew Putnam by four strokes after leading by two shots going into the final round.

Anmol, Markande in BP’s XI against England Lions  

Himachal Pradesh all-rounder Pankaj Jaiswal has made it to the Board President's XI team in a three day warm-up game against England Lions in Thiruvananthapuram from January 18-20. Jharkhand wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan will lead the side. The players involved in the Ranji Trophy quarterfinals have not been considered for selection.

Shakil Ahmed sets world record in indoor rowing    

Asian Cup gold medallist Shakil Ahmed added one more feather to his cap when he set up a world record in indoor rowing by completing  1,00,000m in above-40 years category here on Sunday. A Level 1 coach, Ahmed began his record-setting indoor rowing feat in Salt Lake stadium complex at 8am on Sunday morning and achieved the milestone of covering 1,00,000 metres of simulated distance in 10 hours.
