Chandigarh: Acting on a petition filed by former minister Sukhbir Kataria in the fake vote case, the High Court on Thursday stayed the proceedings before a Gurgaon court. Justice Kuldip Singh also issued a notice to Haryana before fixing January 11 as the next date of hearing. A case of cheating, forgery and other offences under the provisions of the Representation of People Act and Sections 420, 467,468, 471 and 120-B of the IPC was registered in August, 2013, at the City olice station in Gurgaon. Cab robberies: Cops form special teams
Gurugram: With six cab robberies reported in the city recently, the police are on a high alert. They have formed special teams to curb the menace and decided to instal warning signs and make announcements on all intersections, asking people to be cautious while taking a ride. ‘Village of rebels’ in school curriculum
Chandigarh: Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma said on Friday that the heroic saga of Rohnat village in Bhiwani district would be included in school curriculum from the next academic session. In 1857, several residents of Rohnat village had sacrificed their lives in the first war on Independence. It has been christened as a ‘village of rebels’. TNS
