Brick-kiln owner shot at, three booked

The owner of a brick-kiln was allegedly shot at when he was going to his klin at Muchhal village here on Saturday. He had a narrow escape when gunshots were fired at his vehicle. After the firing, the accused, who are yet to be identified, fled away.

Prabhjit Singh, a resident of Balia Manjhpur village that falls under the Jandiala Guru police station, told the police that he was going to his klin at Mucchal village in his Fortuner car. The victim said the vehicle was being driven by his driver Prabhjot Singh while he was sitting on the front seat. He said his munshi Gopal and cousin Harpreet Singh were sitting on the back seat.

Prabhjit said when they reached near his klin, three youths in a Verna car tried to intercept his vehicle. He said they managed to speed away from the spot when the accused fired three gunshots from the rear.

Prabhjit said around 15 days ago, a similar kind of attack was attempted on him when unidentified persons cut off the power supply of his residence.

A case under Sections 307 and 34 of the IPC and Sections 25, 27, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act has been registered against three unidentified persons.

Amritsar (Rural) SSP Parampal Singh said an investigation was on to identify the suspects.
