Boy held for sexually assaulting 3-yr-old

The police have booked a 14-year-old boy on the charge of sexually assaulting a three-year-old girl. The boy lived in her neighbourhood.

The alleged incident took place yesterday when the girl was playing in the street. The boy called the girl to his house on some pretext and sexually assaulted her. The girl, on reaching home, told her mother about it.

A police spokesperson said the girl was taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Barwala after she complained of pain. On her mother’s complaint, the police booked the boy under Sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC, and the POCSO Act.

The spokesperson said the boy had been taken into custody.
