Boxers Krish, Sapna triumph

CHANDIGARH:Krish Pal of Sector 42 Boxing Club beat Alok More of PML SD Public School, Sector 32, to win the gold medal in the boys’ 33-35kg weight category on the concluding day of the 34the Sub-Junior Chandigarh Amateur Boxing Championship here on Wednesday.

Krish Pal of Sector 42 Boxing Club beat Alok More of PML SD Public School, Sector 32, to win the gold medal in the boys’ 33-35kg weight category on the concluding day of the 34the Sub-Junior Chandigarh Amateur Boxing Championship here on Wednesday. 

Aryan outpunched Sujjal to win the boys’ 35-37kg final, while Garav got the better of Shani in the 37-40kg title clash. Mahesh Rana outwitted Sumit Dull to top the podium in the boys’ 40-43kg competition. 

Rohit won the title in the boys’ 43-46kg category. He beat Sonu in the final. Ankit Kundu thumped Sahil to dominate the field in the 49-52kg category, while Bhavya of SD Club knocked out Sushil to win the gold medal in the 52-55kg category.

Ansh Rathi and Aditya Tiwari also won their respective finals. While Rathi drubbed Tushar in the 55-58kg summit clash, Tiwari got the better of Inderjit Singh in the 61-64kg final bout.

Sapna outpunches Janvi

In the girls’ competition, Sapna tamed Janvi in the 36-38kg title clash, while Anushka mastered Gulshan to claim the gold medal in the 38-40kg category. Aditi dominated the field in the 40-42kg category. She beat Tanya in the final. 

Ronak defeated Kirti in the 40-42kg summit clash. Sanya won the gold medal after beating Priyanshi in the 44-46kg final, while Tansi outwitted Srishty in the 48-50kg title clash. 

Neha (50-52kg), Nishita (52-54kg) and Novya (60-63kg) also won their respective finals.

Meanwhile, PML SD Public School lifted the overall trophy on the basis of the number of individual medals won by the side. The British School, Sector 44, claimed the second position. Both teams had finished the competition with 16 points each.
