Health and Family Welfare Minister Brahm Mohindra today unveiled a book compiled by the Punjab Skill Development Mission on the success stories from across the state after skill training.
The minister, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma, Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and Senior Superintendent of Police Navjot Singh Mahal, launched this book during the Republic Day function at the Guru Gobind Singh Stadium here. The book has been compiled by the Punjab Skill Development Mission as a part of its initiative to encourage more and more youth for getting empowered through skill education. It contains the success stories of those individuals from across the state who had become active partners in the social and economic growth of the state after getting skill education.
The minister said skill education could play an important role in giving a major push to the socio-economic development of the state. He said skill education empowers the youth besides giving a major push to their career, adding that youth could be immensely benefitted from the technical education as it could open new avenues of gainful employment for them.
Mohindra said the need of the hour was to ensure that more and number of youth were able to avail the skill education.
