Murdered woman identified, 1 booked

CHANDIGARH:A day after the body of a woman was found under mysterious circumstances at her rented room in Mani Majra, the police identified her and registered a murder case against a man known to her.

A day after the body of a woman was found under mysterious circumstances at her rented room in Mani Majra, the police identified her and registered a murder case against a man known to her.

The decomposed body of the woman, identified as Deepa, a native of Uttar Pradesh, was found on the night of February 5. She was allegedly murdered a few days ago.

In his complaint, her father Krishan Pal alleged that his daughter was murdered by Arjun, alias Baru, who was from the victim’s native place. The suspect is presently at large.

The police had earlier suspected that the victim’s husband had murdered her.
