Jammu: The BJP on Tuesday demanded justice for the displaced people of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) by providing constitutional rights to them. In  a statement, BJP spokesman Sunil Sethi said the time had come to do justice with the displaced persons who had been facing hardship since 1947. "The nation is bound by a parliamentary resolution of taking back the areas of the state illegally occupied both by Pakistan and China and it is the right of displaced persons from all these areas and their generations to have an option of settling in their native areas," Sethi said. "Till the territories are reclaimed and process of settlement started, rights of persons who have been displaced from these areas should be recognised and honoured to give them due place in representative governance by providing for separate seats in Parliament and Assembly as also in state Legislative Council for them. This will empower the community who has been suffering silently for more than seven decades", he said.
