State govt is committed to secular values: Minister

A state-level function was organised here by the Punjab Government on 621st birth anniversary of Bhagat Kabir Ji. Technical Education and Industrial Training, Employment Generation, Tourism and Culture Minister, Punjab, Charanjit Singh Channi, graced the occasion as the chief guest.

He presented a floral tribute at the statue of Bhagat Kabir Ji. He urged all present to adopt the teachings of Bhagat Kabir Ji, the founder of Bhakti movement in the country.

He said: “ Bhagat Kabir Ji spread the message of love, peace, humanity, truth and world brotherhood. Bhagat Kabir Ji’s bani in Guru Granth Sahib shall always guide us to work for the humanity, which always gives a message to rise above caste, race and religion.”

“Following the path shown by Bhagat Kabir Ji, Capt Amarinder Singh-led state government has been working with the commitment for strengthening the secularism, social equality and brotherhood in the state,” he added.

MLA-cum-Industries and Commerce Minister, Punjab, Sunder Sham Arora said: “The teachings of Bhagat Kabir Ji have always shown the right path of humanity, to eliminate evil and create a healthy society.”

Arora thanked the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for organising the state-level function here. MLA Sangat Singh Giljian, among others, was also present.
