Bir Devinder Singh joins SAD (Taksali)

JALANDHAR: Former Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha and ex-MLA Bir Devinder Singh joined SAD (Taksali) on Tuesday.

Former Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha and ex-MLA Bir Devinder Singh joined SAD (Taksali) on Tuesday.

He was taken in at a function held at Punjab Press Club, Jalandhar, in the presence of Taksali leaders Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, Rattan S Ajnala and Sewa S Sekhwan.

Bir Devinder had joined politics in 1967 as the chief of Sikh Students Federation. He was elected MLA from Sirhind in 1980 and from Kharar in 2002.

Having remained a very vocal leader and parted ways with the Congress over his differences with Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.

He said he had joined the Taksali leaders “to help them gain strength to fill the prevailing vacuum in political circles”.
