Bhagmender Singh claimed a fifer as Chandigarh bundled out Gurdaspur for 187 runs to gain a 90-run first innings lead on the second and final day of their Katoch Shield match at the Sector 16 Stadium here on Wednesday and add three points to their kitty.
Chasing Chandigarh’s first innings total of 277 runs, the visitors failed to stitch partnerships as Bhagmender and Arpit Singh stemmed the scoring with some accurate bowling. The duo shared seven wickets between them to keep Gurdaspur below the 200-run mark after they had resumed the day at 67/1.
While Bhagmender returned with the figures of 5/52, Arpit took 3/30.
Chandigarh, in their second innings, were batting were batting on 191/1 when the play ended on the final day.
Manan Vohra hammered an unbeaten 93-ball 117, including 16 boundaries and two sixes. The opener was also involved in 127-run first-wicket stand with Shivam Bhambri, who scored 47 off 65 balls before being dismissed by Madhav Pathania.
