Four incidents of house theft have been reported from the city where thieves decamped with cash and jewellery.

According to the police, a house theft was reported in Sector 27 here. According to the complainant, an unknown person had stolen jewellery worth several lakhs.

A gold locket, diamond earrings, a gold chain, silver coins, Rs 22,000 and some documents were stolen from the house on January 17.

The police were informed about the incident following which a case has been registered at the Sector 26 police station.

In another incident, complainant Inderpal Singh, a resident of Sector 35, reported that an unknown person had stolen Rs 5,000 and some documents from his house on January 17. A case has been registered at the Sector 36 police station.

Two thefts were also reported from houses in Sector 19. Complainant Naveen Kumar, a resident of Sector 19, reported that the theft was reported from his and his neighbour’s house.

Naveen reported that an unknown person had stolen Rs 1,000 and a mobile phone from his house on intervening night of January 16 and 17. Meanwhile, Tarsem reported that a gold necklace was stolen from his house.

The police were informed about the incident following which a case was registered at the Sector 19 police station and an investigation was initiated.
