BRC Danapur, Baba Gurmukh Singh school sail into semis

In the ongoing 15th All India Balwant Singh Kapur Hockey Tournament for Mata Parkash Kaur Cup (U-19 school boys) BRC Danapur and Baba Gurmukh Singh Baba Uttam Singh Senior Secondary School, Khadoor Sahib, entered the semifinals being played at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium, Jalandhar, here today by beating Khalsa Collegiate School, Amritsar, 3-2 and Mata Gujri School, Shahbad, 5-1 respectively in the last league encounters.

In the first semifinals, Government Model School, Jalandhar, rubbed shoulders with Baba Gurmukh Singh Baba Uttam Singh Senior Secondary School, Khadoor Sahib.

In the second semifinals BRC, Danapur, will face Shaheed Bishan Singh School, Delhi.

In today’s match, the players of Baba Gurmukh Singh Uttam Singh School displayed good hockey. At half time they were leading 2-1. For Khadoor Sahib Harkawalbir singh scored twice in the 31st and 58th minute of the game. Akashdeep Singh scored in the 6th minute of the play, Gautam Singh scored in the 25th minute and Jashanpreet Singh scored the goal in the 47th minute of the play. For Shahbad, lone goal scorer was Deepak sain who scored in the 30th minute.

In the second match, BRC, Danapur, was leading by 2-0 at half time. For BRC, Danapur, Sajan scored the goal in the14th minute, Johnson Purty in the 16th and 31st minute of the game. For Amritsar Ajaypal scored in the 45th minute and Barinder scored in the 47th minute of the play.
