Bahadurgarh, April 1

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) started parking facilities at two of the three Metro stations in Bahadurgarh town on Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the Metro train services here through video conferencing on June 24 last year.

More than 15,000 passengers from Jhajjar district and other places use Metro trains to travel to Delhi from Bahadurgarh but they had been facing problems in parking their vehicles at safe places. Consequently, they had to park their vehicles on the roads outside Metro stations. Several incidents of motorcycle theft had been reported during the past nine months. The issue was recently highlighted in the columns of Haryana Tribune.

Sushil Agarwal, secretary of the Bahadurgarh Industries Association, said industrial workers felt relieved after the parking facilities were made available at two Metro stations. A large number of industrial workers commute between Delhi and Bahadurgarh every day and they use own vehicles to reach their workplaces in Bahadurgarh from the Metro stations.

Kishori Lal Gupta, secretary of the Jan Kalyan Manch, Bahadurgarh, said that the parking facilities would help in checking vehicle thefts.
