New Delhi, December 27

Being careless for the health problems of Delhiites, the AAP government here is not implementing Union government’s Ayushman Bharat Scheme, a national health protection scheme under which a poor patient can get free treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh. This scheme is also known as Modi care in the name of PM Narendra Modi, said Delhi BJP.

Union Health Minister JP Nadda has also appealed to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to implement the scheme in favour of the poor patients of the national capital yet the scheme has not been implemented.

Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari said Ayushmann Bharat is the biggest government-sponsored healthcare scheme in the world aiming to provide healthcare facilities to 6.5 lakh families and 30 lakh people residing in Delhi covering both urban and rural poor.

He also said that today eight private hospitals here have launched the scheme. In private hospitals, which has taken land on subsidised rates, 20 per cent beds are reserved for poor patients. — TNS
