An awareness campaign on the theme ‘Clean India’ was launched at Khalsa College for Women (KCW) on Thursday in collaboration with a team from the Municipal Corporation. Principal Dr Manpreet Kaur along with student advisory committee welcomed the MC officials and exhorted the students and staff to contribute to the vision of Clean India.

The programme emphasised social responsibility of the citizens to keep the city clean and cleanliness should become a mass movement, each citizen of the country should neither litter, nor let others litter. MC officials Mandeep Kaur and Davinderjit Kaur, addressed the students on the use “Swachhata App” launched by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

They informed that this application would help citizens draw the attention of their respective local bodies to host of deficiencies in service and related grievances and get the concerned officials act on it. Teachers and students pledged to keep the city and its surroundings clean.
