The Congress candidate Dr Amar Singh from the Fatehgarh Sahib constituency for the 2019 General Election held an election campaign at Sahnewal today.

An impressive show of strength was at display under the leadership of Capt Sukhjit Singh Hara.

However, Sahnewal’s halka in-charge Satwinder Bitti, councillors Manjinder Singh Bhola, Kulwinder Singh, Sandeep Soni and Budh Ram were conspicuous by their absence.

Dr Amar said, “Serving people and addressing their grievances will be first priority. I am aware of what ails the common man the most.”

He said Congress would win this parliamentary seat with a big margin as the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Aam Aadmi Party did nothing to win favour of general public.

“The SAD has been a mute spectator to sacrilege incidents. Akali’s anti-farmer, anti-labour, anti-teacher and anti-employee policies are sure to land the SAD in trouble,” he said.

Dr Amar said, “The AAP which boosts of norms, values and discipline, has lost trust of residents.”

“The development work accomplished by the Congress in the last two years, speak for itself,” he added.

The Congress nominee said if elected to the parliament, he would work for the downtrodden.

Former president (rural) Gurdev Singh Lapran; PPCC general secretary Bikram Singh Bajwa; zila parishad members Ravneet Gill, Nachattar Singh Dholenwal and Balwinder Singh Noorwala, former president of the council and councillors Ramesh Kumar Pappu, Jagdish Singh, Avtar Singh, Nirbahi Singh and Harpreet Singh, among others were also present on the occasion.
