Organised by the Youth for Human Rights, Deswal has spoken in the UN for the second time. She spoke on issues related to paramilitary forces and youth. Develop Fatehgarh Sahib as tourism destination: MP
Local MP Dr Amar Singh, in his maiden address in Parliament, urged the Union government to develop Fatehgarh Sahib into a tourism destination, so that people across the world visit the town to know its historical, religious and cultural importance. He urged the Union Tourism Minister to develop Aam Khas Bagh under the Mughal Circuit as per the Swadesh Darshan scheme of the Centre and bring Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib, Rauza Sharif and Mata Jageshwari Temple under the Spiritual Circuit. oc

Muktsar man held, 70 boxes of liquor seized
The Muktsar (city) police on Tuesday seized 70 boxes of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) from a residence on the Tibbi Sahib road here and booked its occupant Sukhdev Singh 'Gosha'. CM seeks Centre’s help for youth in Malaysia jail
Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has written to External Affairs Minister Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, seeking the Indian government's intervention for the return of a Punjabi youth detained in a Malayasia jail. In his letter, the Chief Minister has drawn Dr Jaishankar's attention to the case of Harbans Singh of Gums Kalan village in Bathinda, who had gone to Malaysia in August 2018 on a tourist visa. However, he was taken into custody on grounds which the family is unaware of, the CM said. tns
