ASI manhandled during Ramlila function

Khanna: A police official posted as Issru Chowki In-charge was manhandled, beaten and his turban was tossed by some persons during a Ramlila function at Rohno village on Thursday night. However, some women from the gathering came to his rescue. On Thursday, during a Ramlila function, a person came on the stage and started dancing on the stage. ASI Balbir Singh, who was present at the site, immediately rushed to the stage along with police personnel and brought down the person concerned. He then sent his team members to leave the concerned person to some distant place to prevent any untoward incident. However, some persons objected the frisking of the accused and started abusing the ASI. They attacked the ASI in full public view and manhandled him and abused him. During the scuffle, the turban of the ASI was also tossed. Khanna SSP Dhruv Dahiya said he was not aware of the attack on the ASI.
