‘Munji Surma’ brings the house down

The NZCC, Patiala, presented a Hindi comedy play, ‘Munji Surma’, during the ongoing ‘Hasna Mana Hai’ festival at Tagore Theatre here today.

Written by Padma Shri awardee Vijay Daan Detha and directed by Raghavendra, the play revolves around Munji, a rich but a miser character. As his habits affect his health, his wife tries to show him the right path through her devotion and prayers.

The play was set in a rural ambience with characters borrowed from Indian mythology. As many as 15 actor-cum-singers-cum dancers were part of the play. Kamal Arora and Mukesh Sharma honoured the artistes. — OC
