Pangs of Partition

Written by acclaimed playwright Pali Bhupinder, a one-act play, ‘Mitti Da Bawa’ was showcased at Lovely Professional University here.

Student-artistes from the LPU School of Performing Arts depicted the issue of cross-border tension and the woes of soldiers of both countries, India and Pakistan.

All characters showcased pangs and pain of the Partition. The touching play brought into focus how it devastated humanity and left unhealed wounds even after 70 years of Independence for both countries.

The play propagated that sometimes it was hard to choose between being a great citizen of a country or to be a great human being.

This theatrical masterpiece depicted the story of two soldiers of the two nations, who struggled to save the friendship they had developed being across the borders during a war between their countries.
