The  Theatre for Theatre in collaboration  Bharatendu Natya  Academi, Lucknow,  presented a classic play “Mach Mach Gaddi”, on the 13th day of the 14th TFT Winter National  Theatre Festival  -2019 at Navrang Theatre here today.

The  captivating play, written and directed by Chitramohan,  was based on a  classic, “Mrcchkatika”, by  litterateur Sudraka. It took the city audience to the socio-cultural and political milieu  of the third century BC of Patliputra, now Patna.

The musical play depicted the romance of  Charudutt and Vasantsena but the playwright introduced some aberrations with characters drawn from the lower strata of  society. Through powerful acting spells and fight scenes,  the play  depicted the rising of general public and his  successor Shakar, installing a democratic rule.
