Over 50 dexterous dancers from Chechen State Dance Company ‘Vainakh’ from Russia gave an entrancing performance and virtually send the audience into scintillating reverie at Indradhanush Auditorium here today.

The most absorbing dance spectacle organised by the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) in collaboration with the Haryana Arts and Cultural Affairs was a part of the celebration of ‘The days of Russian Culture in India’.

The group opened up with a festive dance ‘Homeland’ to set the pace for more thrilling dance spectacles like lyrical dance ‘Meeting at the spring’ and choreographic composition ‘The Mountain Dwellers’.

The all-girls’ lyrical dance ‘Inspiration’ and Georgian wedding dance ‘Qartuli’ created a romantic aura, while ‘solo dance with daggers’ and martial dance amazed one and all for the electrifying movements with geometrical accuracy.

Other dance numbers like ‘Bashlam’, dance with drums, etc., won huge applause and appreciation with standing ovation. All dancers attired in suggestive elegant costumes displayed utmost perfection in executing dance ‘mudras’.

Indian Council of Cultural Relations regional director Nalini Singhal expressed gratitude to Russian embassy officers, audience and also welcomed chief guest Parkash Gopalan, Renu Hooda and veteran film actor Taniya who honoured the artistes.
