Army distributes aids to differently abled in Ladakh

JAMMU: In keeping with symbiotic relationship and emotional bond between the Army and the people of the Ladakh region, the Fire and Fury Corps in collaboration with Bhagwan Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti of Jaipur and Mumbai provided aids to persons with disabilities.

Jammu, June 10

In keeping with symbiotic relationship and emotional bond between the Army and the people of the Ladakh region, the Fire and Fury Corps in collaboration with Bhagwan Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti of Jaipur and Mumbai provided aids to persons with disabilities.

Over 200 aids of various types included 75 wheelchairs, 30 walkers, 30 crutches, 70 walking sticks, 80 hearing aids, 54 dark glasses and 15 knee pads. These aids will empower the recipients and will assist them to live their lives with more dignity and confidence.

Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command, said the joint effort would benefit so many differently abled persons. He complimented Lt Gen YK Joshi, Commander, Fire and Fury Corps, for the efforts put in to identify the differently abled persons in Ladakh region requiring such assistance and then arranging for them to be here today to benefit from the initiative.

Lt Gen Ranbir Singh said there could not have been a better way to pay homage to the gallant martyrs of operation ‘Vijay’ than through this noble gesture. He reiterated commitment of the Northern Command and the Fire and Fury Corps to work hand in hand for the development of the Ladakh region as well as for the well-being of the people of the area.

Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command, and Kalpana Singh Dhatt, Regional President, Army Women Welfare Association, Northern Command, interacted with the recipients.
