Ludhiana, September 5

The Anganwadi Mulazim Union today held a protest at blocks I, II, III and IV on the call given by the All-India Federation of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers.

The workers asked the government to allow them to run pre-primary classes at Anganwadi Kendras only. To register their protest, memorandums were sent to Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla.

Addressing the workers, president Asha Rani said workers were doing their best for the overall development of children. The protesters said not enough funds were being provided for the cause and even anganwadi workers were meagerly paid and not given their dues.

They demanded that the government should address their demands which were genuine.
