Moga, July 12

Taking a dig at the protests being organised by SAD against high electricity rates in Punjab, AAP leader Harpal Singh Cheema said Sukhbir Singh Badal was now trying to downplay his dubious role in the power purchase agreements for 25 years with three private thermal plants at higher prices during the previous Akali government.

Cheema along with former MP Sadhu Singh, senior party leaders Meet Hayer, Navdeep Sangha and local leaders distributed leaflets in Moga city to expose the Badals on the power tariff issue and the wrongdoings of the Capt Amarinder Singh government.

Cheema said the people of Punjab were paying high power tariff as compared to other states and held Sukhbir squarely responsible for it. — TNS
