Barnala, February 9

Under the leadership of Kewal Singh Dhillon, Akali leaders joined the Congress on Saturday.

“Najam Singh (district senior vice president), Harbans Singh Khalsa (circle president) and Gurjeet Singh (sarpanch, Dhanola Khurd) joined the Congress.

“They were shocked after the alleged involvement of the Akali Dal in the Bargarhi firing incident and the party compromising on moral values. It has lost all its original values,” said Dhillon.

The leaders alleged that the developmental works done by Dhillon and the Congress government have also motivated them to join the Congress. They also announced support to the Congress in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

“More than 80 Ramgarhia families have also joined the Congress, along with these leaders,” said Dhillon.

He added that he was totally committed towards the development in the region and would continue to work tirelessly for the people.

“Under the leadership of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, our party is dedicated and committed towards development of the state. The Congress will emerge winner in the parliamentary elections,” said Dhillon.
