Chandigarh, October 17
Just over a fortnight after the expiry of the last date for submission of applications for the posts of Civil Judge, (Junior Division), the Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) to accept hard copies of the forms from candidates after they alleged a glitch. In all, 107 posts are to be filled up.
The directions by Justice Ritu Bahri came on a petition filed against the State of Haryana and the commission by Ishaan Sharma and another candidate through counsel Arvind Seth and Roja Agnihotri.
Issuing notice of motion for March 20, 2019, Justice Bahri directed HPSC to accept the hard copy of application forms from the petitioners. The Bench was told that the petitioners wanted to participate for the post of Civil Judge, (Junior Division), in Haryana Civil Service (Judicial Branch).
The last date for receiving applications was September 30. But the petitioners could not submit online applications on the last date due to “some technical defect”. They then emailed the applications to the HPSC on that very day. — TNS
