Administrator to honour NINE students at PGI

UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore will award degrees to 400 students during the second convocation of the National Institute of Nursing Education (NINE), PGI, on Thursday. Outstanding students will be honoured with silver and bronze medals.

At present, NINE runs three courses — BSc nursing (four years), BSc nursing post basic (two years) and MSc nursing (two years). The courses are in five specialties i.e. mental health nursing, community health nursing, child health nursing, obstetrics & gynecological nursing and medical surgical nursing as well as PhD in nursing.

As many as 155 graduates and 31 postgraduates pass out from the institute every year. Apart from regular teaching, the institute also conducts short-term courses, conferences, CNEs, seminars and workshops for the nursing personnel/teachers and students on current topics/ latest developments to update their knowledge and skills.

400 to get degree

As many as 400 students will be awarded degrees during the second convocation of the National Institute of Nursing Education (NINE), which currently offers three courses — BSc nursing (four years), BSc nursing post basic (two years) and MSc nursing (two years).
