In continuation of Acharya Sunder Singh Memorial Lecture series, proud alumnus Padma Shri Sushil Gupta, president nominee Rotary International (2020-2021) delivered a lecture at Shri Ram Ashram Public School on Saturday evening.
Students of classes VII, VIII and IX paid a humble tribute to Acharya Sunder Singh, the founding principal of the school by performing a short play on his life spectrum. Acharya Sunder Singh, was a legendary nationalist who resigned his lucrative government job of District Inspector of Schools to establish and serve the institution on honorary basis when Shri Ram Ashram Educational Society was founded in 1923 in response to National Movement particularly Non-Cooperation Movement of Mahatma Gandhi and the Jallian Wala Bagh tragedy to meet the challenges of British Colonial system and to promote the spirit of nationalism in the students.
Sushil Gupta paid homage to such a noble soul by participating in Acharya Sunder Singh Memorial Lecture Series. He appreciated the enthralling performance presented by the students, who performed to the extent of perfection. In his lecture on the topic ‘What Life Has Taught Me’, he shared the momentous journey of his life and experiences. He taught that the truth and honesty are the only keys to form one’s character. He also motivated the audience not to give up and must fight for one’s right.
President of the school, Balbir Bajaj, said, “Acharya was a real visionary who had just one aim to enlighten young minds for the growth of the society.“Remembering his contributions and exemplary works, Principal Vinodita Sankhyan remarked that the school is a living model of rich legacy left behind him.
