A 26-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her husband at Rajanwali village on the Abohar-Seetogunno road here on Saturday.
Preliminary investigation reportedly indicated that victim Mamta, who belonged to Daulatpura village near Sangria, was married to Vishnu of Rajanwali in 2012. The couple had two childeren. Vishnu reportedly suspected that his wife was having relations with the owner of a dairy in the same village. He allegedly assaulted her using a spade at least thrice. People learnt about the murder after an hour and informed the police. By then Vishnu had fled leaving behind the body in a pool of blood. A case has been registered under Section 302 of the IPC.
