Rohtak, August 1
Members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will launch a 500-km ‘Bhaichara Kaanwar Yatra’ from Haridwar to Haryana from July 31 to August 9 under its ‘Haryana Jodo’ campaign.
Addressing a news conference here on Monday, the party’s state unit president Naveen Jaihind maintained that ‘Ganga-jal’ brought from Haridwar would be offered to the Haryana Chief Minister, ministers, MPs, MLAs and Opposition leaders in a bid to “cleanse” state politics.
Jaihind said members of all castes and religions would participate in the yatra.
He said the yatra would commence from Haridwar and pass through Yamunanagar, Panchkula, Chandigarh, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat and Sonepat districts before culminating at the state-level martyrs’ and freedom fighters’ memorial in Rohtak.
