Chandigarh, February 17

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday flayed the Vigilance Bureau (VB) for failing to file challan in disproportionate assets case against senior Akali leader Dyal Singh Kolianwali, who is a close aide of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) supremo and former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.

In a press statement released today, Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema alleged that the VB did not file challan in the case even after passing of prescribed 60 days due to pre-planned strategy of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and Pakash Singh Badal.

He claimed that the act raised many questions over the working of the VB and exposed its failure to work in a free manner in the state.

“Capt Amarinder Singh used to boast of putting the corrupt behind bars during the Vidhan Sabha elections and especially mentioned Kolianwali during his speech claiming that he will have to pay for his corrupt practices, but all in vain,” he said.

Cheema demanded that the VB must request the Mohali District and Sessions Court to grant more time to file challan against Kolianwali.

He said people who had looted the state must not roam freely because of their political stature.
