Ambala, February 22

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday extended support to NHM employees protesting here for the past 18 days.

Party workers led by their district chief Abhay Saini gathered at a roundabout here, took out a protest march along with NHM employees and burnt the effigy of the state government at Aggarsain Chowk.

Saini said, “The government must amend its policy and fulfil the demands of the NHM employees. The government must regularise the services of NHM employees, as they have been working in the Health Department for the past several years.”

Tarandeep, district president of the NHM employees’ association, said: “We will continue to protest till our demands are met. The government should table a Bill in the ongoing Assembly session and fulfil our demands.”

The health of one of the protesters Anita Khanna deteriorated on Friday. The NHM employees demanded healthcare facilities for those on dharna. — TNS
