Ludhiana, May 11

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders have accused candidates of the Congress, SAD and Lok Insaaf Party of “misusing and looting” public money.

AAP candidate Dr Tejpal Singh Gill and spokesperson Ahbaab Singh Grewal said all three candidates were silent on the alleged misuse of public space and money.

Tejpal raised the matter of alleged violation and issue of prime piece of land in Sarabha Nagar worth thousands of crores.

He alleged that the land, which was meant for only New Senior Secondary School, had been illegally appropriated to construct three schools where high fee was being charged.

Gill alleged that these constructions and sub-leases had been done by somebody very close to a Cabinet Minister in Punjab. He alleged that the minister also had some share in these properties.

“The land belongs to New Senior Secondary School of Saraba Nagar. But three private schools have come up on this land in an illegal manner,” he alleged.

Gill alleged that the Congress was responsible for the illegal act. He questioned that why SAD candidate Maheshinder Singh Grewal and LIP candidate Simarjit Singh Bains were mum on the issue?

Aam Aadmi Party leaders said the matter should be probed and action should be taken against the violators.

They alleged that none of the candidates were worried about the development of the city. — TNS
